The Lesser Slave Lake Regional Landfill and MD Transfer Stations will remain open to receive waste during regular hours of operation. Due to COVID-19, the Regional Landfill will not be receiving any recyclable materials until further notice; the COVID-19 virus can survive for up to 9-days while outdoors.
Please be advised that the public is required to store its own recyclable materials.
Health and safety remains our number one concern. Staff are not allowed to assist in unloading or handling any waste. If you are feeling sick, do not visit these facilities – you are required by law to self-isolate. Public access to the buildings is prohibited unless stated otherwise; essential contractors are considered an exception. Any further operational changes to the Landfill or Transfer Stations will be communicated through the municipal website, social media channels, and appropriate signage at the sites.
